JDMST Melbourne Meet – April 2012
Huge meet at the Essendon DFO tonight. A couple of hundred cars at least? Either way, impressive! I organised a bit of an MelbS15 premeet and we all rocked up in there to find most of the space packed already.
Not many photos for this, I was honestly stuffed from shooting at Sandown all day. Here’s what I did get.
Enjoy!
Mighty Car Mods Melbourne Meet- April 2012
with 5 commentsWent down to check out the Mighty Car Mods meet held in Southbank, Melbourne today.
A fairly big turnout, was good to meet Marty and have a quick chat (He was on the Micra forums prior to the MCM days) as well as put some faces to names.
Some very tough cars out as well. Good to see such a culmination of the car community there – pretty much something for everyone – Japan, Australia, euros, old models, new models.
Here’s some photos from the meet. As usual, enjoy! Full Set is here.
If you’re into cars and DIY modifications, be sure to check out Mighty Car Mods on Youtube and Facebook.
Here’s a selection of images that I took from the SAUVic cruise that ended up in Newport yesterday. Lots of nice cars and was good to have a chat with the owners.
Had a bit of a play with some lights as well, was an interesting challenge as the sun went down, exposures changed..Didn’t do to badly in the end.
The light setup I had going for these pretty much stayed static, I just moved cars in and out again. CBF’d being overly creative, just wanted to give the owners some photos of their rides..Didn’t matter to me that they were all in a similar style
430EX 1/16th @ 28mm pointing at the rear quarter panel
SB-26 1/16 @ 24mm pointing at the front quarter panel
SB-26 1/64 @ 85mm pointing at the front grill..This one was a bitch, depending on the car colour would either look shit or need to be dialed in again.
Black cars at night, are a particular challenge. Next time, it’d be easier to just paint it with a softbox I think.
Its a motorshow, You always see the same sort of photos from these things, so here’s just a couple of the more special cars that were in attendance.
The two models of the new age “Mad Max” cars were awesome, I really liked the Nimachine model they had, looked real tough.
“Top Gear Australia heard rumours of the return of an Australia movie legned, “Mad Max”, and set a challenge to the Ford Australia’s talented designers to come up with what they believe the next generation of Max Max cars should look like.”
See, its not all just rollerblading. I shot these awhile back. I remember it being an awesome summer Melbourne day, cars had just been washed..what else was there to do but grab some photos? With Marco’s car the sun was setting as well which gave a nice ambient. No need for strobes here. I’ll dig up the exif info later.
